History
Sir Thomas Lipton sailed to Ceylon in 1890 in search of the best teas in the world and then founded his first company in London. In the late 19th century, Lipton already had 300 employees in London. In 1892 he opened his second factory in Glasgow and opened around 150 sales branches in England.
Today, Lipton is the world's leading tea brand, which can already be enjoyed in over 150 countries. Over 100 billion Lipton teas are drunk every year all over the world, with the popular Yellow Label Black Tea leading the way.
